Chakras are energy centers. They contribute to our health, vitality, emotions, and thoughts. And, of course, they also contribute to our spiritual growth. If you had to visualize them, they would look like spinning wheels. Some of them are located in our physical bodies and govern certain body parts or systems. Some others are located outside of our bodies and connect us to our ancestors and Divine realms. Yet all of the chakras are located within our aura or energy field.
The concept of chakras is thousands of years old and comes from Hinduism. The word “chakra” means “wheel” in Sanskrit. However, in the late 20th century, these spiritual concepts acquired a lot of popularity during the New Age movement. Nowadays, the idea of chakras we have has been Westernized. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t honor its roots.
The incorporation of fragrance is a powerful but often overlooked way to activate the chakras. Scent bypasses the mind. The mind is one of the biggest obstacles to achieving spiritual balance. By triggering your sense of smell, these high-vibrational scents go straight to the body.
Scent can also be used to create spaces where certain chakras can gradually go back into harmony. The Earth Star Chakra
The Zero or Earth Star Chakra, located a few inches below the soles of your feet, is of vital importance to BIPOC and other marginalized people. This is so because it connects us to our ancestors and the most ancient of our roots. Ancestral worship was of vital importance in African religions. These concepts were later appropriated by the Western world.

The Soul Star Chakra
The ninth chakra (called the Eighth as the Earth Star receives the number 0) is called the Soul Star and is located a few inches above your head.

The Root Chakra
The first chakra is located at the base of your spine and receives the name of Root Chakra. It gives you energy and vitality. It also rules over your sense of safety and your capacity to provide. The Sacral Chakra
The second chakra is located three fingers below your navel and receives the name of Sacral Chakra. It has to do with joy, pleasure, imagination, and creativity. It is also deeply associated with fertility and sexuality. The scents associated with this chakra are Chamomile, Orange, Patchouli, Neroli, Cinnamon, and Chili Pepper. The third chakra is located three fingers above your belly button. It is the Solar Plexus chakra. It is the center of personal power and self-confidence. Your warrior spirit is located here.
